This task also involves the SCAMPER method, and now applied to a rice package. The packaging has to be different from what is out there in the market. Apply each one of the SCAMPER techniques and do a write‑up on your findings. Then choose the option that you think would work best and do a sketch of what the packaging would look like.
The rice pagage problem scope can be many, but one is in outdoor cooking situations. Rice usually comes in boxes or larger sacks. These containers are usually too large to bring with you on camping – especially if you intend to hike long distances or carry much equipment. Some boxes have boil in bags, which are kind of portion sized rice containers that you put in boiling water. There are a few problems with these: first – the bag has rice for many portions which may be a problem if you are only one or two. Second, the rice is not pre-cooked so you have to bring a burner, fuel, a kettle, (maybe water), a plate and cutlery in order to eat it.
How can the SCAMPER method applied to the rice package solve these problems?
Substitute the paper box(/rice bag with one made of heat resistant material
Combine rice with other ingredients, so that this becomes a full meal or dessert.
Combine the rice container with a spoon so that you don’t have to bring your own
Combine the container with a funnel with a valve to pour water into the container
Adapt by adding a heater inside the container, using this teqnique (salt, iron, magnesium) so that you can add cold water
Make the material of the container recyclable to meet the requirements of the environmentalists. The heater is the only waste and the rest is degradable
Modify the container to a portion size with a soft box with a screw cork. Hot water is poured into the container through a valve formed like a funnel and the cork is put back on. The water is then blended with the content by gently massaging the container.
Make the container layout with the largest area is facing down so that you can use the container as an eating device.
Since the container is degradable, you can put in other use by using it as fertilizer afterwards.
Eliminate the need for kitchen utensils in order to cook the rice by adding the heating system
Reverse/rearrange the container by making them stackable in height instead of lengthwise.
